Cranes 2

I further explored the cranes photograph and work from my previous post to develop these paintings. Here are some of the developmental stages:

Cranes

I developed the semi abstract painting above from this original photo:

Here are some of the development images created in the process:

I then cropped the image to select a smaller section that I felt created an interesting composition and continued exploring it:

Fractured further

I continued to explore and develop the 'Fracture' image from my previous post until I had created this darker, more textural image. It reminds me of a stained glass window at night and has quite an eerie atmosphere.

Fractured

This began as an image that I had previously started to work on but which had reached a 'dead end' for me. I didn't feel I had reached a satisfactory end point it i couldn't see how to successfully develop it further. So I left it for a time before revisiting. I then used some new techniques to create the final image above - it is one in a series of sinewy textured pieces I have created.

This was what i felt was a 'dead end' image for me:

It was a fractured, edited version of this painting:

Developed further

In the same way as mentioned in my previous post, I have continued to revisit some images I had previously explored to create these results:

I feel that the textural lines add an organic sense of growth and I like the extra dimension they give to the images.

Bike lines

I was looking over previous work and decided to continue developing a previous image that I had already worked on. This was the final piece I created - I loved the intersecting lines and to me it suggested a sense of sinews and muscles being pulled apart to allow a look inside:

This was the original photo and some of the earlier work developed from it:

Sunset

I really appreciate the merging and melting colours of sunset and find it is an image I am often drawn back to. I enjoy creating sunset scenes and exploring the different colours and textures. This painting was created over a number of weeks as I stopped and started and then restarted it in different directions a number of times.
I used a wide range of digital tools to create it along a similar developmental path to previous posts. Here is the original image and some of the stages:
